Kicking off the Year-End Season with a Bang: DJ Chaz at Momentum One
Year-end events carry a certain energy that you don't get at any other time. People are ready to let go. The work is done, the pressure's off, and everyone's in that mood where they just want to celebrate. When Momentum One booked me for their year-end party, the brief was clear: make it feel like a celebration, not a function.
Setting the Tone
A lot of corporate events fall into the trap of being too safe. Background music that nobody notices, a cautious playlist that offends nobody and inspires nobody. That's not what Momentum wanted, and it's definitely not what they got.

How the Night Unfolded
I always structure corporate sets around the evening's flow. Early on, I kept things warm and social. Easy grooves, nothing pushy. The kind of music that lets people catch up over drinks without shouting.
Once dinner wrapped and the drinks started flowing properly, I started pushing the energy. Afro-house blends, electronic builds, a few crowd-pleasers thrown in for good measure. By the middle of the set, ties were off, shoes were optional, and the dance floor was packed.
The Crowd Made It
What made this gig special was the crowd. They trusted the journey. Every tempo shift, every build and drop, they went with it. That kind of trust between a DJ and a crowd is rare at corporate events, and it makes all the difference.
There's a point in every great set where colleagues become dance partners, where job titles don't matter anymore and everyone's just vibing. That's what happened at Momentum One, and it's exactly the kind of energy I try to create.
