Sunset Sessions at St Tropez Gardens

DJ Chaz had the amazing opportunity to perform at the legendary St Tropez Gardens for MultiChoice's VIP event last night. An elegant setting, a buzzing crowd, and the kind of venue that makes your job easy.

The Setting

St Tropez Gardens is one of those spots that just works. Poolside, lush greenery everywhere, outdoor lighting that gets better as the sun drops. It felt like a slice of the French Riviera right here in South Africa. The production team had the setup dialled in, and from the first track it was clear this was going to be a good one.

Finding the Sweet Spot

Afternoon pool sessions need a specific kind of energy. Go too hard too early and you kill the relaxed vibe. Play it too safe and people zone out. The sweet spot is somewhere in between: groovy, sun-soaked deep house with enough bounce to keep people moving without forcing it.

I leaned into tropical influenced beats, smooth vocal cuts, and warm rolling basslines. The kind of music that sounds like summer. As the afternoon shifted into golden hour, the set evolved with it. Deeper pads, more space, a bit more soul.
